Harry Tuft & Katie Glassman

Harry Tuft has been quite influential in the Colorado music scene. He opened the Denver Folklore Center in 1962! Providing quality instruments and lessons to an entire community. I got to know Harry personally playing the Jewish concerts produced by Hal Aqua. There I learned that Harry is full of all the old tunes from the 20s that I love so dearly. He can play and sing one obscure song after another, just when you think it can’t get any better, he pulls out another one.

I’m honored to be his featured artist in his January Swallow Hill Cafe series. This will be a unique gig for me to visit with Harry onstage! Not only that, it’s my birthday. Won’t you come to celebrate with me?

A note from Harry Tuft:

Hello, Friends and Happy Holidays. I’m very pleased to announce my next guest at Swallow Hill in the Quinlan Cafe will be Katie Glassman. Katie is a Denver native but her musical reach is world-wide through her teaching and performing. She’s also a powerful songwriter and accomplished singer. Along with all that, Katie is a gifted teacher with a unique eye for detail and talent for communication. Katie has toured and recorded with The Western Flyers and leads her own band, Katie Glassman and Snapshot

It will be a pleasure to trade songs and stories with Katie, who will also join in the song circle which follows the initial concert. Folks are encouraged to bring instruments and stay for the second part of the evening.

Tickets are available online, and at the door the evening of the concert if not sold out. We hope to see you, 7 PM, Thursday, January 16th in the New Year.
